Internationally renowned  clarinettist Michael Collins is the Artist in Residence for LMF 2014. We are honoured to have such a superb musician join us for what is turning out to be the most exciting festival yet!

His website states:

Michael Collins’ dazzling virtuosity and sensitive musicianship have made him one of today’s most sought-after soloists. At 16 he won the woodwind prize in the first BBC Young Musician of the Year Competition and at 22 made his American début at Carnegie Hall, New York.

Michael Collins is performing throughout the week in various concerts including playing the Mozart Clarinet Concerto with the Welsh Chamber Players. Later on in the week Michael will be joining with Wales’ leading String Quartet, The Mavron Quartet to play Mozart Quintet in A Major for Clarinet and Strings.
