The Marmen Quartet has a growing reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting young groups and are winners of the prestigious Royal Overseas League Competition 2018. They are also the first winners of the Music in the Round ‘Bridge’ Scheme, of the Musicians Company Concerts Concordance Award and a Royal Philharmonic Society Award. The Marmens enjoy a residency at the Salomon Smith Chamber Music Series in Sweden and were founded in 2013 at the Royal College of Music in London. Their cellist Steffan Morris will be a very familiar face to audiences in south Wales and we are thrilled to be presenting the Quartet’s Welsh debut here at the Lower Machen Festival.
